L’Agence ‘Velvet Blazer’ – $675.00

Given that Taylor has worn the brand before I’m feeling 1. Reasonably confident about this velvet blazer 2. Incredibly seen by this lush green (!!!) colouring.

Faith Connexion Fall 2018 blazer – no longer available (similar)

Taylor continues her blazer trend with yet another black tailored piece that has a little bit something extra going for it.

Similarities can easily be drawn to her sparkly black velvet suit by Philosophy di Lorenzo as worn on The Voice and her Ally Coalition concert look — by the same brand here.

Get the look: BCBGeneration, $76.80

Cinq A Sept ‘Estelle One-Button Check Blazer with Embroidery’ – $595.00
Cinq A Sept ‘Eliza Wide Leg Check Pants’ – $395.00

I will need a minute to process the perfect styling moment here and will reserve that once we get some glorious HQs. But in short: This heart-embroidered menswear-inspired suit set is one of the most Taylor and Lover-appropriate lewks we’ve been served this era thus far.

Ambush ‘Wool Oversized Belted Blazer’ – $1,595.00 (sold out)

Taylor opted to not wear this oversized womens blazer with its belt. Instead, to add further to the mussed, sensual vibes of the song it’s casually slung and slightly off one shoulder.

Worn with: Bond Eye Jewelry earrings, Alice + Olivia bodysuit, and Libertine pants

Get the look: Missguided, $59.00

As part of promo for her upcoming musical appearance on SNL, Taylor rewore her plaid blazer she first wore while doing promotion in France. Nice to see this getting another outing!

Valentino Couture Fall 2019

The pronouncement of those braids and their utilitarian toughness feel even more significant here. Doesn’t this amazing hooded silk piece by Valentino bring to mind a wrestling hooded robe that’s shaken off by the fighter just before entering the ring?

Further, it’ll be a crime if we don’t get more Valentino moments throughout this era. And while we’re at it, I’d also like to throw Prada, Chloé, and Rodarte as other Lover-worthy brand suggestions.

Gucci Resort 2020 jacket and shirt

Rolling Stone said “Blondes In Yellow™” and Taylor Swift Style said hell yeah.

In one of her deepest cutting interviews in years, Taylor graced the cover of RS wearing a sunny, vibrant bow-accented look from Gucci’s latest runway. I have to say that I much prefer the fun take that makeup artist Andrew Gallimore took for this yellow look over the more moody original presentation on the Gucci runway.

This is also one of two yellow looks in the entire spread and continues to add to the Blondes In Yellow™ looks that we’ve been presented with this era. A part of me wonders if part of it is an intentional shoutout on Taylor’s part to the album-name-that-could-have-been for Lover and a symbolic representation of the daylight and golden sunshine she basks her life in now. It’s a comforting thought.

Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini ‘Glitter Velvet Double-Breasted Blazer’ – $1,295.00
Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini ‘Glitter Embellished Velvet High-Rise Leggings’ – $295.00

It’s incredibly interesting how post Lover-release, Taylor has been implementing even more fashion seemingly inspired by “The Man” than prior to its release. Pre-release style ruffles, girlish silhouettes, pastel palettes, and mermaid-scaled sequins dominated her fashion choices. But in this post-release world, we’re being blessed with a bevy of sharply cut suits in a variety of colours and materials.

The distinction is incredibly fascinating and I look forward to continuing to see how her style develops from here for this era.

Gucci ‘Double Breasted Checked Floral Embroidered Blazer Jacket’ – $5,555.00 (sold out)

This outfit will undoubtedly find a place in my annual Favourite Outfits Of the Year list – so I was incredibly delighted to finally track down the check blazer she wears here: a sadly sold out Gucci piece. What’s even sadder is that we never got a look at the reverse of the blazer which includes a beautiful surprise fully embroidered floral back!

Personally finding myself loving everything about this outfit as it employs many tactics I (bias) work into my own wardrobe. I love a professional-looking ensemble to always have a bit of bite and to include a mixture of textures and materials. A slightly oversized menswear-like blazer is edged up significantly by a burgundy leather skirt. The play of colours here is distinctly fall and equal parts smoking and professional. 11/10, thank you.
