Miss Americana poster | January 15, 2020

Free People ‘Softly Structured Tunic’ – $148.00

For those not able to make it to Sundance for opening night on January 23, in todays confirmed news, Taylor’s documentary Miss Americana will be hitting Netflix screens on January 31.

From the poster and that distinctive sleeve stitching, I’m guessing this is the same black turtleneck that she wore while in Australia back in October 2018.

What I find most striking about this minimalist poster is its similarity to a television political drama poster. Which is of course a particular note given the song its title is taken from “Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince” and the political narratives woven into its lyrics.

Gucci Spring 2020

If you were around when I first published my then-TS70s predictions post you know that I had hoped that what we came to know as Lover would be filled with looks just like this: A nod to 70s style, with doses of brown and suede but made modern. In fact, a direct quote:

“Fringe, but tempered with metallic heels. Suede, paired with OTK boots.”

Delighted to see this presented right on the money, courtesy of Gucci. I know many say this often, but I typically refrain from this phrase. However, it couldn’t be more fitting here that Taylor really jazzes up this runway look. The skinny belt, hair, and jewels plus that burnt terracotta background is perfection.

And that zing of green makes my heart sing.
